What happens when scales invert? A dog becomes larger than a human, a shadow heavier than the body that casts it. An arm emerging from a curtain — without a body — is kissed in the light of an industrial horizon.

The logic comes from somewhere older than painting — from the strange unreality of dreams, from surrealism, from science fiction. I draw from light and atmosphere (Degas), from the domestic sphere (Vuillard), from the painted dream (Magritte, Lynch), from darkness (Goya).

What remains is the question: who looks at whom? And which relation — literal or figurative — determines power in this space?
